About us
Alex Adams or as many fondly refer to him as, "The Oyster Guy," is the man who has a heart and passion to bring you the best oysters North Carolina has to offer. Alex has been fishing local waters since he was a young boy alongside of his dad. What began as quality time with his father has turned into a passion and love of aquaculture. Alex spent many years making a living as a commercial fisherman in Pamlico County. Between the love of the water and his knowledge and skill at building, Alex and his partner Craig Quidley came up with a plan to start an oyster farm (only their plan was much different than the average oyster farm). Between the two men there is no lack of skill and ability. With Alex's knowledge of the water and of boats and Craig's skill as a contractor they were the perfect pair to set off on the amazing adventure that has landed them to be known as "innovative and unstoppable." The phrase "work smarter, not harder" came into play early on in Alex's life when, as a young teen, he lost his leg in a farming accident. Alex tells people that from that accident it has taught him to push through the difficult times and to always look outside the box and never give up. Lighthouse Shoal Oyster Company is a dream that began with two men, a few great ideas and a ton of heart and hard work. it reminds me of a Dr. Seuss quote;
"You're off to great places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So... get on your way!
Together, with people who believe in their process, Lighthouse Shoal Oyster Company is proving to be one of the most sought after oysters on the East Coast. Alex attributes the amazingly awesome taste to the location of the oyster farm, briny with a sweet buttery flavor and a clean finish is how we describe our LSOC Grace Point Oysters.
Come see the innovative technology and "experience" oysters like never before... being part of the process and tasting the end product fresh from harvest to your table. MmmmMmmAhhMazing!!!

"In my opinion, I'm getting a 3 out of 5 for salinity level. There's a nice buttery middle taste with a clean mineral finish."
